French Purple glitter mix acrylic nails

Sorry I've been out for so long. Here is a picture of a set of acrylic nails that I did for a friend. I use organic nails protein bond. This product is amazing. I used NSI and EZ flow. The purple glitter mix is a combination of glitters in the color purple with stars. I encapsulated the mix with clear acrylic. The rhinestones I got them from eBay. I hope that you like them.

Mineral eyeshadow makeup for very sensitive eyes.

I'm unfortunate to have very sensitive eyes. I searched for more information about sensitive eyes, but there's not a lot.Mostly is blame to allergies, wich I do have but very mild. I'm allergic to dust, but who isn't. I love makeup! but most of the eyeshadows make my eyes very sensitive.I get all kinds of reactions from very red eyes,to itching and burning. I wonder if there's anyone out there with the same problem.I would like to point out that I'm very hygienic with my makeup. I often disinfect all of my makeup. Yes I've seen news report about a lady who's makeup bag was bacteria ville, scary.
So far the only eyeshadow that has work for me is  mineral eyeshadows and Almay eyeshadow. I felt the difference as soon as I applied it.I didn't have any burning or itching or even red eyes.Yay! I'm one happy Girl!. I tell my husband that I wish I could have more time to do my makeup everyday, because I love the feeling that I get when I put makeup on.When I was Expecting my daughter I became obsessed about makeup, even to take the trash out, seriously.

Simplicity 9497

I got this pattern long ago, until one day I pulled my pattern stash. I went to Joann's to buy a beautiful brocade fabric. we yes we,because my daughter is 5yrs old and is always willing to help. They only problem is that she wants the stuff that we sew to be done in minutes.
Cutting the skirt and linning.

She's helping me to sew the skirt thinking that it will be done in minutes! I wish.

Sewing the invisible zipper.I had a bit of difficulty the pattern skipped a couple of steps and I had to figure it out on my own. I'm not an expert seamstress but would love to be one,one day.

When sewing the invisible zipper I used a flat  screwdriver  to keep the zipper to the side.I  got this technique  from a very old and beautiful book called The busy mother's guide to sewing children's clothes by Nancy Coburn.

The back of the dress all done, sorry I forgot to add step by step pictures.
so glad that both sides are at the same level.I decided to add a long black ribbon as a sash.

The dress completed she couldn't wait any longer and wore it right away that sunday to go to church. The dress was overall easy to make, except that the instructions on how to sew the linning was missing. I do recommend this pattern, but not for beginners.

My daughter and my 20 months old son after church.
till next time :-)

Oh Honey

Recently I went to a local pet store to get some natural pet food. We have a long hair chihuahua and a new puppy German Shepard. As I approached the check out line I noticed a huge jar oft beautiful, delicious honey. Not just any honey, natural honey. I bought it and was very happy the jar was only $10.
The benefits of honey are endless from the inside out. Honey can help muscles before, during and after exercise. Honey can enhance sexual libido( hooray) lol. It is perfect for the skin specially my worse nightmare acne scars. Here is a few recipes made with honey of course. For acne scars 2 tbs of honey and 2 tbs of lemon can clear up the skin. Lemons have vitamin c which is very good for the skin. 2 tbs of honey and 1 tbs of baking soda creates a paste to exfoliate your skin. Do it twice a week. 2 tbs of honey and tbs of olive oil put the mixture on your face for three minutes. Get a hot steamy towel and let it rest on your face. The steam will remove scaring , then wash your face. Pour half a cup of honey in the blender with a cucumber blend together really well. Cucumber is very good to tighten the pores. Apply on the face for a couple if minutes then clean the face with a wash cloth. These can be done daily except the exfoliant.

Homeschooling finally a dream come true.

Ever since our daughter was 2 yrs old I've been buying her activities books and crayons. I even got her a desk. Almost every afternoon we sat down and sang out abc's we read stories and she did some coloring And painting. I was once reading an article about homeschooling and how these children always scored higher on tests that the children that actually where in school. I asked my husband about homeschooling our daughter. He answered with a no it is too hard to do it. I kept buying books and doing mini lessons at home. Last year my husband got deployed to Irak and I went to Florida with the children. We stood at my moms house. My daughter started pre K. Omg it broke my heart that rainy day that I left my beloved daughter in a tiny yellow school. I saw the teacher yelling at the children. That really bothered me, but at the same time I wanted her to learn and the big word " socialized ". after my husband got back, we came back to our duty station. It was going to be her second school only in pre k. Here it was worse. Teachers seem impatient and rude. Kids were bullies and some not even old enough to defend themselves. After seeing so many things, I felt that my calling got stronger And I decided to google homeschooling. I pray and still praying about it. So far I've gain some knowledge and are getting ready to begin in September. The curriculum that I would love to try Heart of Dakota with Little hearts for his glory. Will give a complete review after I order it. Out 16 month old son will also be part of our homeschooling. Thank God for giving me a supporting husband. I Will keep praying so that God gives us the wisdom to do it. I want to leave the legacy to our children to follow the lord.

My obsession with Chipotle's Mexican Grill during my husband deployment

During my husband's last deployment to Irak,I decided to go and stay with my mom and sister in Orlando, Florida. During our stayed there my sister introduced me to a restaurant called Chipotle's Mexican Grill,I was instantly in  love with the food. I became a regular at the restaurant that I knew almost everybody.I know crazy! After about four months we get the amazing news that the deployment got cut short and the guys were heading back.Forget Chipotle, my hubby is coming home! was, what I was thinking all the time. When my hubby got back,we went to the restaurant and my husband loved it. I knew that he was going to get hooked on it like I did. Since my husband is into playing baseball and eating healthy and weights and all of that,he loved it. After the holidays it was our time to head back home, after searching for my closest location I got the following message "We are sorry no Chipole in your area search for another city or MOVE!" I was devastated, I didn't know to either laugh, cry, get angry or simply close my mac book. I was thinking to myself is ok,screw you, you'll be the one missing me,lol. After heading back home I did some research and duplicate it at home.yay for me! Now four months later I do what I call "Chipotleada Night" and here is my recent picture of my version of Barbacoa beef with white rice bowl.Like my dearest Julia Child used to say "Bon Appetit"

Smokey eyes with Wet n wild Greed Palette

Hello Everyone this is my very first makeup entry.I'm not a pro I just love makeup and whenever I get a chance I love to put on some eye shadow. As usual it is very important to start with a good primer so that the makeup in your eyes can last all day.For this look I used the eyeshadow palette from Wet n Wild called Greed.I love Wet n Wild cosmetics, they are very affordable and the new eyeshadows are really pretty and pigmented. The palette has 6 eyeshadows one side is matte the other is shimmer. the right side has a highlighter a medium shade for the lid and a darker shade for the outer corner of the eye.The palette has one highlighter, two peachy tones(one shimmer one matte) two greys one lighter one sort of like a charcoal both in shimmer and one black in matte.and here is a picture of the look that I did with this palette.

Overall this look is very easy for a beginner like me.the color on the brow bone is the highlighter and is the lightest color the second one is the light silver one and the all lid color is the black one.
please excuse my eyebrows,I try my best to make them look equal but somehow the left one is thicker than the right one.lol
Is a bit hard for me to really show my eyeshadow because I have hooded eyes, but I'm practicing more and more everyday to make it look better.thanks all for reading my blog!

the jumper simplicity 5317

this was the final garment,it fit really good.I would make it again if I have time.

I was looking for an embroidery machine for a while, but I had no clue how to do embroidery. I told my hubby and he said to me,just to make sure that I  use it. Well i decided to get one, something not to expensive. I got the janome 200E.beautiful machine, very basic, but I love it.I'm still learning about stabilizers and all that deal that comes with embroidery.
I got the machine for $500,it was the same everywhere.I get to upload free embroidery designs online and upload it to the machine with a thumb drive.I had tons of difficulties, trying to find out the zip and un zip thing. but thank God for the prayers and many hrs oh and patience that took for me to figure out this embroidery.the machine comes with some designs and 3 alphabets.

My Serger

I got my serger  Juno by Janome model 3434D, about a year ago in Hancock's fabrics.I really like it,the only thing is a bit noisy, but other than that is a great machine,it has differential feed, which is to feed the fabric and ruffle it. I guess like every other serger it has colors to follow with thread. the threading system is super easy, when i first got it I got to used it right away nothing too complicated. The actual price is $329.99, but I got it for $179.00,not bad for my first serger. Why did I get it? Because I wanted my garments to look more professional and sure they do.i can use 3 or 4 threads,I usually use 4.
A year later still runs like new,I use air spray after every  use ,to keep it clean.

dressing up my girls socks.

I recently was in desperate need of cute socks for my daughter.we went to the store and all we got was this ankle white socks with white lace.the lace looked soo cheap and ugly, the socks were a package of two for almost $4,not bad. well I decided to change the ugly lace and put a prettier ribbon.

the pink ribbon was very cheap,it was 50% about $1.50 not bad at all.I took my favorite friend called  the seam ripper and took out the old lace, went to the sewing machine and with a small zig zag attached the new ribbon.I had to feed the fabric and stretched it a bit so it won't get stuck in the feed dogs. It was the first time that I did it and it was super fast and simple.the result....loved it.

Learn from the Pros

Last year I saw a blouse at Dillard's that I really liked.Omg,it was too much for me,so I decided to find something similar and make it myself, the pattern looked simple. One thing that completely threw me off was the pattern fitting.
I love to sew , I love sewing magazines and sewing shows, but to complete one grament it was a hard task for me.I honestly hate the process of taking the tissue pattern and start cutting it and getting the size right.Well I just went and guess my size according to my full bust measurements,WRONG!!! the blouse came out huge, enormous, grande no no no extra grande.I'm not a typical Barbie doll,(well used to,LOL) After I had my daughter I went from barely bubbies size 4 to full busted. I'm 5'5 and at the time I was 180 lbs so I went and picked size 18,or 20 I think it was.I don't even know how many times the poor blouse got feeded thru my serger and still too big.I gave up,I wanted to wear that blouse soo bad,but I have very limited experience into sewing or ven worse fitting.I gave up for a while and my beautiful blouse became one more of my UFOs.As the days went by I realized that I had to face my moster and find the way to learn from my mistakes.I went online and came across these beauties,         the first DVD is about jackets,Oh no! one more of my UFOs, the second one is about fitting, yes fitting.I had to face my monster and fall in love with the tissue. that damn tissue! and the last full busted yup, that's what I got thanks to the pregnancy, a totally body makeover LOL.I re play this videos and wow so many things that I did wrong, is not you full bust is high chestmeaning above your bust.also try on the damn tissue, yes, try it on.for some of you this is a very simple process it could even feel like second nature. To me not really,I had no one growing up that knew how to sew.I really want to learn it all and be able to pass it on to my daughter. It's so sad that many fabric stores are closing, to me my sewing room is my therapy.

my old sewing room

The threads didn't work there,my 2yr old daughter took them and threw them all around the tiny room, I call her little terror, because I have to re arrange every time she comes in.She even left her mark on the wall.

We currently live on post (Fort Hood),our house was way bigger. It's all good as long as I can see the hubby more often LOL. It's hard for me to keep it tidy Samara is always into something.

About me....

I'm a 29 yr old woman,I'm an Army wife (not the series,in real life lol )I'm a mom of a 2yr old princess. She is my joy,my motivation,my strenth.I love to sew and love to do my nails.I will post some of my work and my nails too.
